Wedding invitation messages for WhatsApp

A good wedding invitation message for WhatsApp is short, personal and sent with the invitation link, never on its own. Below are 26 ready-to-copy messages in Hindi, English and Hinglish, sorted by who you are inviting: elders, relatives, friends and colleagues. There are reminders and thank-yous too, and a short guide to inviting politely on WhatsApp.

How to invite politely on WhatsApp

  1. Call elders first. For grandparents, senior relatives and family elders, a phone call (or a visit) is still the respectful way. Send the WhatsApp message after the call, so they have the details saved.
  2. Write each message by name. “Namaste Mama ji” reads very differently from a forward. Copy a sample, then change the greeting and one line for each person.
  3. Send it 3–6 weeks before. Guests who travel need time to book. Send a reminder about a week before, and a short note with directions the day before.
  4. Don’t only post in big groups. A family group message is fine as an extra, but people still expect a personal invite.
  5. Share one link, not ten images. A link with the venue map, function timings and RSVP saves guests from scrolling through a stack of photos, and you can update it if anything changes.
  6. Match the language to the person. Hindi with respect for elders, Hinglish for cousins, simple English for colleagues.

Make the link worth opening

The message gets the tap; the invitation does the rest. With a wedding invitation website, guests see every function, open the venue in Google Maps and RSVP from the same link. For a warmer start, ask your parents to record a short voice note; see the messages and voice scripts for parents. Need the full card wording too? Try the free card matter generator.

Send one link that has everything

Put these words on your own invitation website, with the venue map, RSVP and your parents’ voice, and share it on WhatsApp.
