Wedding invitation messages from parents
A wedding invitation message from parents carries the most weight in an Indian family: it is Mummy and Papa asking you to come. Here are 23 original messages in English, Hindi and Hinglish, for a son’s or a daughter’s wedding, plus short scripts for parents who want to say it in their own voice.

Writing as the parents: what works
- Use “we” and “our son / our daughter”. It turns a card into a personal request.
- Name both families on the formal card, even when one side is sending it. Put the other parents’ names in brackets after the bride’s or groom’s name.
- Pick one language per person. Formal Hindi or English for the card, everyday Hinglish for cousins and friends.
- If a parent has passed away, many families invite “with the blessings of the late [name]”. Keep it gentle and let the family decide how much to say.

Say it in your own voice
A written message is read once. A voice note from Mummy-Papa is heard, and remembered. On a Gulabi Cardinvitation, a 15–30 second voice message from parents or grandparents plays at the top, so every guest is invited in their voice, just like the phone call that used to come with the card.
- Pick one of the scripts above and change it until it sounds like you.
- Find a quiet room and hold the phone about an arm’s length away.
- Record it as a normal WhatsApp voice note, in any language, and send it to us.
- We add it to your invitation website. Guests tap once to listen.
